Charlotte and Faraday's life cycles
Something that has bothered me for a couple of weeks now is that Charlotte's life seems to follow an endless 30-year cycle. As a young girl she lived on the island with the Dharma Initiative. Some time before the purge she and her mother left and Charlotte went on to get her PhD in Anthropology and then returned to the island on Widmore's freighter. Ben then turned the donkey wheel and moved the island in both time and space, bringing on the time jumps. When Locke moved the donkey wheel he stopped the time jumps, leaving the current inhabitants of the island in 1974. This caused Charlotte to revert back to her former self as a child on the island. Presumably, Faraday is stuck in a similar loop since he previously warned young Charlotte to leave the island and never come back and probably did the same thing again this time around. It appears, however, that he does not age throughout this process. Nonetheless, their lives seem to be caught in an endless cycle and who knows how everyone else is affected. I wonder if the work that Christian tells Sun and Lapidus to perform a final correction to time to end these cycles?
